I have a 2020 Regal 26xo running on a 2020 2 axle trailer rated for 8600 pounds with D rated trailer tires.
I am curious if owners are towing this boat on 2 or 3 axle trailer and what kind of tires. Boat fully loaded is probably close to 7400lbs. Dealer matched the trailer to the boat when purchased new.
The boat doesn't bounce on the trailer but the boat and trailer can bounce pretty hard on the freeway.
On the way back from a 500 mile trip recently, a u-bolt holding the spring plate which holds the axle to the spring broke. The front axle came loose on one side but was contained by the spring. Damage to the tires and fender, luckily I saw smoke coming from trailer and did not damage boat.
I am questioning if the trailer is sized correctly for the boat. We take the boat on a lot of longer trips on the trailer.
Look forward to hearing your opinions.

We had a Crownline about the same weight. We had 2 axle trailer and no issues. We hauled long distances and everything was fine.

My dealer sells the 26 XO with a 2 axle AmeraTrail, so that's how ordered mine despite my personal preference (thinking) that a boat this size would be better served with a 3 axle trailer. That said, the AmeraTrail seems to be holding up well after about 6 months of use and 600 miles trailered.

As long as the trailer is rated for the weight you yells be fine. Ideally I would prefer the boat loaded up is no more than 80% of the trailer max weighted rating.

Thanks for all the input. I checked on the weight again and the boat dry weight is 6100lbs so the loaded weight is probably around 7000lbs.
Partizan, what weight is your 2 axle AmeraTrail rated for?

GAWR - 4800, so
GVWR for my 2 axle is 9600.

Looking into buying a 26 XO and am researching hurricane plans. My current boat is a 25’ bow rider with trailer so I just take it off the lift and store it for hurricanes. But I doubt my Jeep Grand Cherokee (7200# tow capacity) can tow a 26 XO. I can always borrow a truck if needed but debating on if getting a trailer would be worth it. SW FL here.

A V8 Jeep Grand Cherokee will tow it, but you are not going to have much margin. I've also been told by many mechanics that those are simply not reliable vehicles for towing, but that's a different issue. I trailer my 26XO with a Ford F-150 powered by a 302 V8. With the tow package and 4 wheel drive, my set up is rated to tow 8900 pounds. You certainly feel it when you tow something this size, but the V8 handles it pretty well. Trailer weight: my dealer told me it was right around 1000 pounds. The boat and trailer are in Miami now, but I'll confirm that figure when I go back up.
