Hello. I just purchased a 2012 35 Sport Coupe (Zeedraak), and I have a few questions. The boat is in New Hampshire, and I am in Maryland - I bought it without having seen it, but did get a survey. Arriving next week.
VHF - the boat does not have a radio, so I will have to install one. I purchased a Standard Horizon GX2400, so I could get AIS information. Does anybody have suggestions on mounting the antenna? Possibilities include: - mount on side of hardtop, which would be the b-pillar if this was a car, near top. I see this on pictures in the brochures and many other 35SCs. - mount on rear roof in a new location - remove TV satellite dish and mount VHF antenna in it's place (benefit of no new holes)
Air Conditioning - My boat does not have the cockpit A/C option, but we may want to cool the cockpit in summer evenings (one of my daughters wanted to sleep up there). If I close up the cockpit with the canvas and leave the cabin door open will that help cool upstairs? The survey noted that there are 2 A/C units in the cabin, but just not sure how cold they can get the boat.
Satellite TV - Not really interested in the KVH TV3 that is on the boat and don't want to subscribe to Dish or DirecTV. Kids more interested in TikTok, Netflix and other Internet sources. And my wife (works in TV) want to get away from TV when she is on the boat. Is there a market to sell this satellite system used?
