26' commadore 5.7 MPI Bravo 3
I am getting a vibration at low RPMs 1000 thru 2500 seems to go away when on plane at 3000 and above.
Looking for help to track down the source of the vibration I have felt similar vibration on other boats at low rpms not sure if this is normal.
1) Props have no damage 2) I did some work to the drive to replace clone clutch and all the u joints and shaft bering seemed good. 3) Had an ignition problem with bad plug and replaced plugs and distributor cap.
Love to hear any suggestions how to track it down
Thanks Joe

This may not be related at all but worth checking your engine mounts. See if anything is loose there or deteriorating.

Also, does vibration change when trimming lower unit up/down? If so, gimbal bearing or U joint. Have you greased either recently or ever? Does vibration occur when under power or in neutral or both thru the RPM range?

Would it vibrate all the time if engimne mounts? Steering or trimming no change and everthing has been recently greased. Only vibrates underway from 1000 to 2500 rpm I do not notice the vibration when up on plan over 3000 rpms. I tried resetting prop position with one prop blade set at six oclock and the other prop set at 12 oclock and it seemed to get worse. I did not mark the props for thier original position. Some have told me prop position should not matter.

Was vibration present before you made outdrive repairs? Have you drained outdrive to check for metal in the gear lube?

Bad engine mounts can cause vibration at some or all RPM,s. Just check them and replace if loose defective, also bolts holding mounts to engine and mounting bolts to stringers, loose?
