They already had the template so no measuring.

If just the backing is worn, I used black Flex Seal to coat over the rubber backing and it has worked very well. It is flexible and shows no wear after two years of use.

I remove and pressure wash the carpet every fall. I did this a couple of weeks ago and it still looks like the day that I put it on.
