Hey Guys, I asked in a previous post about installing an Inverter/Charger in place of my failed charger. What I would like to know from fellow Regal Owners of late model larger boats if Inverter/Chargers are installed from the factory, or if someone has installed one as an aftermarket installation? If so, please advise make and model. Thank you.

I use an inverter to run certain items when I don’t want to run the generator. For example, if Ii need to heat something up in the microwave or my son wants to watch a show on the tv in the cabin. It’s very useful. But I would suggest a minimum of 200 amp hours and LiFePO house batteries.

I know of several people that have done away with there gensets and installed lithium battery's and inverters they say it works great and not terrible hard to do. I would still use the gen myself but that's just me.

Agree with short term use of invertor but still at least 200AH or more of LiFePO4 batteries. $1600-$2000 plus cost of 1kW invertor? I have been successfully using a 38 lb. 200AH LiFePO4 battery (replaced a 136 lb. 220 AH AGM) now for 1.5 years without problems. No invertor and biggest continuous load on house battery is audio system LOL! Great that at 10% SOC still 12.4 VDC (13.6 VDC at 100% SOC) !
