Hello guys, I want to buy a boat, but I don't know much about it, I only have 2 pictures and the owner said that is from 1993 with Volvo V8 engine. From the pictures I guess it's Regal Valanti 200 from 1990-1993 with Volvo Penta V8. Can someone confirm this ? Also, does anybody have experience with this kind of boats? Are they any good? Boat looks good but I'm a little worried about the engine. Does it run good? Is it possible to find parts for servicing it ? What could be common potential problems? Even I don't really know what kind of Volvo Penta it has, I guess it's 500b or something similar from 1990-1993 V8 engines. I appreciate any help you can give me. I'm from Macedonia, want to order the boat. There is not much choice to find something else for this amount around 8-9k eur. What do you think? ps. I can't insert a picture in the post so I will paste a link to the pictures of the boat. Thank you in advance for all the help you can give me. reklama5.mk/photos/xbig/a89799e4-d03c-4f62-8186-f297ad38b4d9.jpgreklama5.mk/photos/xbig/85693709-15c5-4ab3-84c3-aacab372d7bd.jpg

So many things could be wrong with this boat, but, then again, all could be perfect too. Is it feasible to go see it? Best scenario would be a survey by a marine surveyer & a certified marine mechanic. Otherwise, it will be a "crap shoot". The current owner has apparently taken great care with the exterior, so it is very possible they took good care with the mechanicals also.
Please keep us advised of the outcome.

I still haven't seen the boat live, I will this weekend, it's stored in a storage place for boats. If it's in good condition will go for a lake ride, but since it's still winter that will be in late spring when the weather will be better. I will took some pictures and will post here. Maybe than you can give me some advice.

As I said earlier, so many things could be wrong with this boat. At this point, it's your call whether you even want to sea trial this boat. It is "rough"! It all depends upon the price and what you want & expect from it. Your call. Please keep us advised.

Hello, I saw the boat, on the 2 pictures I have provided you it looked little better that the actual state of the boat. The boat was only once in the lake in the last 3 years. Didn't get a chance to talk with the owner, this was all talking the owner of the boat storage facility. The engine is VolvoPenta 572 with dual props. The steering wheel was really tough to spin ( i don't believe that it has power steering). The transmission didn't want to go in speed, it was only on neutral position. Other that that i have no idea about the engine and electronics. The props showed some salt water marks, previously the boat was used in sea. The whole upholstery needs to be redone. The gelcoat maybe could be polished with some fixes or maybe repainted, the white color it was more like a yellow. The cabin was locked... Just a couple of notes: You did not say if you started the boat engine so I will assume that you did not. The steering on an I/O boat will be tough to turn if the boat is not running. The boat must be running for the power steering to work. Also, the same holds true with shifting the boat from neutral to forward/reverse. It will be difficult to do with the boat not running. I have been advised not to move the shift lever to change gears unless the boat is running to avoid the possibility of bending/damaging the shift mechanism or shifter cable. However, as other's have advised - proceed at your own risk.
