Hi all, new owner of.a used 33 OBX, no manual and the manual I downloaded does not have an answer. I did a search on here with no results. Under the box mat there is a hatch that is screwed closed, what is under that hatch? I am hesitant to open it due to it be screwed down. thanks for the help

I have a 33 OBX, but I'm not following your question. I get you are at the bow, but I'm not clear where specifically the screwed down hatch is located. Are you talking under the hatch at the bow where the Anchor Windlass is or under the floor hatch in the bow seating area? My boat is in storage so I can't access it right now, but I plan on going to it over the next day or so and I can look.

If I had to guess I would say it's just bilge access unless you have a bow thruster

In any event, it is NOT Jack in the box! It won't hurt to pull the screws & have a look-see.

It’s in the floor at the bow. I’ll unscrew the two screws and open it up.
Thanks everyone for the responses

I'll have to take a look. I know it's not the bow thruster, yes I do have one of them, that access is down in the cabin of the sleep area. Not sure what that would be let us know, mine is probably hidden beneath the mat I have in that hatch compartment. I normally put canvass down there.

Turns out it’s just a storage area. Looks to have never been opened because it was PIA to open it
