Engine Hatch won’t open

Have a 2012 Regal 35SC. The other day I pushed the engine hatch up and nothing happened. I checked the fuse bubbles and none are extended. I’m going to trace the line from the hatch button but this also made me wonder how to open the hatch in an emergency or if battery is dead and there is nothing in the manual. How do you manually open the engine hatch?
