hello... newer to boating, this is our first "big" boat. I was wondering what I should expect as a cruising speed and at what RPMs. I have twin Volvo Penta 5.7 GXI-F , DP-SM 1.95 and 3 blade counterrotating propellers. It has been an amazing boat and extremely happy with the Regals. Thanks in advance for your reply.

Welcome!
You need to be more specific, there are lots of Volvo Pentas. 05 3060, I’m assuming you have a pair of 5.0’s , approx 260hp each, pushing through dp Drives, but you should confirm so that people with the exact same config can chime in on their experiences.
Generally, best cruise is a couple hundred rpm above planing speed, so that you don’t immediately fall off plane due to wake or turns. Some boats run better with a bit of tab. I loved the 3060 and nearly bought one but I didn’t so I don’t have personal experience.

I don’t know if this is still relevant, I have an older model of the same boat, (1996 292 commodore) I also have twin 5.7l but because it is older I have carburetors (2 barrels 210 hp each) and mercruiser alpha drives (gen 2) with all our “stuff” in the boat we are really close to 11,000 # we need to cruise at 30-32 mph @ 3500-3700 rpm’s to stay up on top of the water. Anything less than 29 and you start falling off plane. Top speed with the Mrs. and myself is 40 mph with cool air and low humidity on Lake Superior. Other lakes and rivers south of the big lake is 37-38 mph. Mpg is a dismal 1.0-1.1 Drive ratio is 1.62 with 19 pitch props. Hope this helps.
P.s. I’m pretty sure you can probably do a little better than I can with the duo prop, probably about an extra 1-2 mph on top end and about .2-.3 on the mpg
