I have an older but well-maintained Commodore 3260 with a faint head odor in the aft compartment. I'm replacing the waste lines and noticed that the top pump-out line from the macerator to the hull fixture was never sanitation grade, but rather plastic drain hose. Is this common? Should this be replaced with sanitation-grade hose as well?

The answer lies with whether you will ever be using the macerator. If yes, and you are already replacing the other, of course! If no; why bother.

I agree with sgilbert, if you don't use the macerator and have the thru hull fitting closed due to that, there is really no need to replace that hose. However, if you do use the macerator I would replace it with a correctly spaced hose.
